Socially-Responsible Innovation (MVI) North Sea Energy Lab

MVI North Sea Energy (Socially-Responsible Innovation NSE) Lab’s goal is to explore the development of the North Sea into a sustainable energy source, and to stimulate innovations in this field, in such a way that it is socially-inspiring development (low cost/high return in various fields) and to accelerate, in a broad sense, the energy transition in the Netherlands.

The MVI-NSE lab wants to ensure that all lights are green with regards to the development of the North Sea into a sustainable energy source. To this end, it focuses on socially-responsible innovation.

The MVI North Sea Energy Lab, as a socially-responsible innovation platform and process, aims to:

  • Fit the ‘entire system’ into the space, and assist in seeing the system as a whole (issues, stakeholders)Improving the visibility of existing initiatives and processes that focus on the development of the North Sea into a sustainable energy source, and to elicit underlying questions with regards to socially-responsibly innovation.
  • Guiding stakeholders in a transformative innovation process that may lead to possible interventions, prototypes or projects in response to these social innovation questions.

All above in continues alignment with the sector, in which new projects are initiated every day. The lab offers the opportunity for reflection, space for experimentation, and is also a place to (collaboratively) explore less-than-obvious routes. The lab wants to fulfill the role of a compass and sanctuary in this development.
