Warmte verplaatsen met behulp van geluid

Samen met consortiumpartners als TNO werkt Blue Heart aan de doorontwikkeling van de technologie van de thermo-akoestische warmtepomp. De warmtepomp maakt gebruik van geluid om warmte te verplaatsen van een lage naar een hoge temperatuur.

Voor deze thermo-akoestische warmtepomp is geen vervuilend koelmiddel nodig en het apparaat maakt veel minder geluid dan een reguliere warmtepomp. Bovendien is het aantal bewegende onderdelen veel minder, waardoor ook onderhoudskosten lager kunnen zijn. Door een samenwerking met Schouten Techniek, kan de thermo-akoestische warmtepomp goed afgestemd worden op huidige systemen.

Het doel is de warmtepomp binnen afzienbare tijd voor een aantal toepassingen op de markt te krijgen. Technisch gezien moeten er nog vooral meer praktische problemen overwonnen worden, maar de verwachting is dat de grootschalige marktintroductie niet meer lang op zich zal laten wachten.

De thermo-akoestische warmtepomp is een ontwikkeling die is ontstaan bij TNO. TNO is ook één van de aandeelhouders in Blue Heart. Het project is onder meer financieel geholpen vanuit de subsidieregeling TSE-16-07-02 Warmte en Koude installaties (TKI Urban Energy).
