The Netherlands is facing a major climate challenge. Its prosperous society and industry need to transition from fossil-based resources to sustainable solutions. In this transition, hydrogen plays a crucial role as a green raw material, energy carrier, storage medium, and much more. This also presents an opportunity for the Netherlands to build a new industry and an attractive business climate.
Pooling resources
In GroenvermogenNL, we combine our strengths to realize the potential of hydrogen. The joint efforts of the top sectors Chemistry, HTSM, and Energy, along with industry partners, knowledge institutions, and the government, allow us to tap into the potential of hydrogen and green electrons. Together, we are building the Groenvermogen (Green Power) of the Netherlands.
€338 million for GroenvermogenNL
The Dutch government has shown its confidence in GroenvermogenNL by allocating €338 million from the Nationaal Groeifonds on April 9, 2021. With this funding, GroenvermogenNL can take significant steps in the coming years. We will focus on R&D, small-scale pilot and demonstration projects, and human capital.
The transition to large-scale projects and investments remains crucial. Therefore, the joint top sectors are in discussions with the government regarding potential financing routes. A proposal for the second round of the National Growth Fund is highly likely.
